    Hi,

the EZKeys Player is for Standalone operation.
Could you please start with going to the plugin Menu and select ‘Check for updates’? If there are any available for you, it’s best to start with installing those.
Please provide more details about your system; OS, host, etc.
Those intermittent louder triggers, do they happen upon live playback only or can you experience it with MIDI from your timeline?
If the latter, how does that MIDI look upon inspection?

My Problem exists whether or not I am in standalone or as a vst in Reaper. Strangely perhaps Ezkeys was functional as a standalone, even though it was not installed according to my control panel…?? I have updated all libraries and reinstalled the Player. No difference. I cant really tell if the loudness problem exists when just playing back midi files…(it appears not) but I am getting some terribly out of time playback and some strange key strikes ..others dont seem as bad. I am running win 7 ultimate on a fast i3 with 8 gig of ram. I am also not sure what u mean when you say “how does the midi look upon inspection… I see bars or chunks of midi data that look like chunks of data…i dont have a clue how they are supposed to look. Thank you immensely for getting back , Martin

What I meant was if you inspect the MIDI notes and their velocity value in your host (Reaper), does it look like you would expect? I.e. are the velocity values in your host obviously not responding with what you hear upon playback?
What kind of audio device are you using? Is it running an ASIO driver? Hardware Buffer Size?
Which version number is displayed in the EZKeys Player plugin window?
