I am recording MIDI drums via Roland TD4 kit. I record MIDI in Cubase Elements 6, export MIDI file, drag the MIDI file into EZD2 song track window, and everything plays. Now I am trying to export the individual tracks into Cubase as WAV files so I can mix/edit in the DAW.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bit, 4GB ram, Intel Dual Core.
Here are the issues I’m trying to resolve:
1. I export a kick drum–which I’d like to be mono, obviously–but it comes out a stereo file. Further, when I play it it Cubase there is no audio. The kick’s track meter doesn’t show any reading, either. I try to play the WAV file in another app (like Windows Media Player)…and it won’t play. I get an error message saying WMP can’t play the file. Then, I’m able to get no audio on ANY of my tracks in Cubase and I have to reboot. Is this a known issue?
2. Multiple Outputs: I’ve already set the VST plugin of EZD2 to multiple outputs and have been able to see the individual tracks in Cubase, playing from the MIDI in EZD2. I can add effects no problem. However, the reason I’d like to use them as audio in Cubase is so I don’t have to run EZD2 every time I do a mix session (to save CPU). Question: how can I run my MIDI tracks through EZD2 to get those great sounds, and then import and use them as audio drum tracks (with waveforms, etc.)?
3. Crashing: The last 2 times I’ve run EZD2, it has crashed Cubase. Now I can’t do anything with the program. I’m wondering why all of a sudden I can’t use it at all?
Sorry for the lonnnnnng post–if we should take care of these issues individually let me know.
Thanks – Tim
