Do you have the 32 bit or 64 bit version of Ableton 9 installed? Take a look at this link for clarification; https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/64bit-myths-facts/

Does ezd2 work in standalone mode?
jep, works like a charm standalone
Ok. If you click Help->Show Plugin Path, does it show the VST path? If so, check if the EZdrummer.dll is in that location and set that path in Ableton. Also, if you’re using the 32-bit version of Ableton, you should install and use the 32-bit version of EZdrummer and not the 64-bit version.

nope, it doesnt show a vst path, cannot find one. i manually searched for it, couldnt find it either. i remember with my older ableton, it was under c:prgrograms in some folder of which i forgot the name. was never a problem but now i cant even find a vst folder
ableton 9 is 64 bit, EZD2 is 64 bit installation as well, so that should not be a problem i guess
• Default path 32-bit: C: > Program Files (x86)
• Default path 64-bit: C: > Program Files
How much RAM do you have on your computer?

What exactly is the plugin path that is shown in ezd2 standalone? EZD2 is a .dll plugin. It may or may not display ‘VST’ anywhere in the path.

found the solution! EZ2 didnt create a plugin folder nor did it copy the plugin anywhere, it was just in the regular EZ2 folder. I pointed Ableton via plugin path to that folder and it of course found it, works now. not really a satisfying experience to install this thing but the sounds are very good.
big thanks to everybody that tryed to help! cheers!
