Hi,
I bought EZ Drummer 2 cause I needed a tool which would help me to create Drumtracks for some recorded Songs and Ideas. I already watched the EZ Drummer 2 Class on Songwriting on Creativelive but I still have some questions of some features which don’t work out for me as I wanted them to.
First of all I can’t change the Clicktempo in EZ Drummer 2 when I am in Pro Tools. This only seems to work in the standalone Version and seems to have no effect on the Plugin. It’s not very easy to lay down a beat in the Tap2Find Windows especially when slowing down the Tempo.
In the Tap2Find Window it is only possible to quantize to one notevalue. It seems that I can’t quantize every drum to it’s own Notevalue. For Example. I want to quantize the Bassdrum to 16th or 16th Note Triples and them I want to quantize the Ride or HiHat to 8th Note or 8th Note Triplets.
I really liked the Videos on Creativelive where Rick mentioned that you can use the program in a way that you are actually telling the “Drummer” what to do. But for my style of Music I am missing a funtion where I can tell “The Drummer” to try 16th Note Doublebass straight to the Measure or 16th Note Triplets. Is there an option to do that or do I have to find a workaround for all that?

1. The easiest way is to change the tempo with the “Tempo” knob, found on the lower left side in Tap 2 Find.
You can alos change the tempo of the entire EZdrummer 2 project as long as you don’t have “Follow host” enabled which means it will sync to the hosts time line and tempo.
2. You can’t set individual quantize resolutions for different instruments in Tap2Find.
You can however record a 1 or 2 bar block on the time line and then quantize different instrument parts separately (double click the block to enter Edit Play Style and then right click the drum you want to quantize). If you want to try out a lot of different quantize steps, you should create a copy for each variation of quantization that you need since it’s an applying effect, thus quantizing to 1/4 and then to 1/8 will have no effect.
When you are done, just drag the block to Tap2Find’s drop zone.
I hope this helps you

I used the Tempo knob in the Beginning when I used Tab2Find but the Click totally throws me of when it’s clicking in Quarters and I need to do a 16th Note Kick pattern.
It seems that I have to put my Beats down one by One when the Quantization only works for the whole part.
I also realised that the Click from the DAW doesn’t line up with the Click from the Tab2Find. I am often trying to find a Beat with the Music and the Click running. My thoughts where that this would be possible with EZ Drummer 2.
I am a little disappointed that this is not possible. It would make my Songwriting Process so much easier when i Could hear the Loop of the Riff synced up with the Tab2Find to get a groove and program the Drums.
Seems that I have to do a lot of workaround.

Your concerns about the click in Tap2Find is noted. I will discuss it with the development team!
The syncing problem has been fixed and will be fixed in the next update of EZdrummer 2.

That would be really cool if these things get fixed. I am curious how it will work out with the ability to change the Tempo in Tap2Find. If it’s synced to the DAW this option will get lost I think.
