After completing a fresh install of the DFH into my EZX2 layout – I am now getting some bizarre errors when applying the 1.50 MIDI library update:
Could not copy “Midi/05@EZX_DRUMKIT_FROM_HELL/06@METAL_(1#8)_BACKBEAT/02@GROOVE_01/00@_INSTRUMENT_VARIATIONS/header”
Try again?
“Try again” does nothing. I have checked the file path and it’s valid. and there is a file called “header” already present.
Any ideas? File permissions or something else going on?
Appreciate an update.

have you tried running the uninstaller included in the MIDI update? if so, did it run OK? If problems persist please press the ‘log file’ button after the installer failure and send it to support, this will give us more details about the issue.

I found the issue – it was with the length of the paths. Since I was trying to install this from my server location – and it had a huge path to start with – adding the very long file names/paths of the various sounds, files etc – started the errors.
As soon as I moved the 1.50 update folder to my local drive and gave it a short name like DFHMIDI – it ran perfectly.
Solved.

yes, as modern as Windows 7 is, it still has a path length limit of 256 characters. Glad you worked out the issue.
