For EZD2 what’s the difference between EZX sound expansions and drum midi expansions?
Do they install the same way? Are they accessible in EZD2 the same way?
For example, there’s a Rock! EZX and a Rock! Midi. What’s the difference?
Thanks in advance for replies.
EZXs are EZdrummer eXpansion packs and mainly contain new sounds.
They also come with some MIDI.
A MIDI pack is just MIDI.

Thanks Olle. Problem is I’m a relative newbie. What’s the difference between “new sounds” and midi?
Does “new sounds” mean new samples of new drums?
And does midi mean grooves/patterns with no particular sound attached until the user specifies which kit or drums to use?
Yes, EZXs contain new samples. I.e. new instruments in
a new room.
You can think about MIDI as notation for computers
