To sync EZdrummer Song Track with your DAW, just click the button between the tempo and Song Creator button. I don’t remember the name of it right now and I don’t have any DAW on this computer so I can’t check. In Stand-Alone the button is named ‘Click’ but it changes name when opening in a DAW.

Pasting onto a MIDI block in the Song Track will only replace if the same Instrument already exist, If it doesn’t then it will Merge with the pattern. However, the Hihat is a bit special since we treat the Hihat Pedal as a separate “instrument” So if you have a Pedal going and paste another Hihat articulation it will Merge and not Replace. If you open the MIDI block in Edit Play Style you can right-click the Hihat and remove the MIDI before pasting (or after)

Thanks Erik! The “Follow Host” button allows EZD2 to follow Cubase’s transport controls but it doesn’t work the other way around. If you’ve ever worked with Reason in Rewire mode, the communication is two-way. It’s really convenient when building tracks to audio you’ve already recorded in Cubase. Maybe it’s something you guys could consider in future upgrades.
Thanks for explaining the midi pasting to me. It makes sense now. Take care.

You Don’t have to switch screens if you use the keypad on your keyboard to start and stop the Cubase transport bar. Ezdrummer will follow.
