I have just upgraded to EZD2.
In Ableton when I load a drum kit and try and set one of the drum channels to a different output it causes EZD2 to crash and I have to close Ableton to even get things to respond. EZD1 did not have this issue.
What sample rate do you use in your project?

48Khz or 96Khz
As a test I tried 44.1 and it doesn’t crash but I do not work in this sample rate ever.
At all samplerates it works fine in single channel mode just when I try and rout multiple outputs. All other VST plugins work at these other rates in multi-channel mode (Kontact, Battery, Omnisphere, Trilian).
I think I have been able to locate and fix this bug. Until it is released
the workaround I can think of is to never change the routing
so that a new output becomes used when using a sample rate
other than 44k1. So, when you change your routing you go:
-temporarily set sample rate to 44.1
-change routing
-bring sample rate back to whatever it was

Thanks for the reply.
I was actually wondering if this would work because I noticed that a instrument rack I created with EZD1 which was already configured to multi-out worked fine. It was only when I tried to change any outputs it would crash.
Look forward to a fix but I can probably manage to setup a few preset kits initially with multi channel outs pre configured to get by in the mean time. I do like to make a lot of changes on the fly though so I know it will still cause me issues until a fix but hopefully it’s not too far away.
Cheers.
Same crash happens in Logic X as well, but it too can also be worked around by changing the sample rate back and forth. It’s kind of a pain when you’re using tons of Kontakt instances in your project file, because all of those samples need to reload whenever you make changes to your audio device like that.
Hopefully a patch is forthcoming. Really like the EZ2 update so far — it’s a vast improvement on the original version — but this bug seems like something that should’ve been caught in beta. Do none of beta testers use a sample rate other that 44.1kHz?!
Having the same issue in Sonar X3….
Olle’s workaround did the trick…
Both times I tried to use multi outs…when I would get to out 7 – CRASH….first the plugin, then X3
when I switched to 44.1 and changed… and then switched back…it worked fine…
