Hi,
I’ve downloaded and installed all my updates for EZDrummer 2 and the EZXs (Americana, Indie Folk & Rock!). The only issue seems to be that the number of available kits for the EZX Rock! pack seems to be smaller than before I updated it for EZDrummer 2, am I missing something or is that the way it should be?
When I select and hover over the icon in the top right where you select the kit, I left kit so that I can choose the kit I want then scroll down to Rock! and then in the selection under that I have the following to choose from:
Basic
Basic Ambient
Original Mix
EZD1 Mixer Presets (This has further options but nothing like the Drum Kits previously available)
Thoughts and/or suggestions?
Cheers
Peter
The drum kit presets can be found inside the Instrument Properties. Click the little arrow on the drums, under the Pitch knob you can find it.

Hi Erik,
Thanks for the reply. So what your saying is that in EZD1 I could select the full kit from the menu, in EZD2 I now have set up each part of the kit from the small circle/triangle options on the hit graohic?
Not a problem, I just want to make sure. So that means the drop down of the top is for the overall sound settings applied to the kit, rather than the selection if the kit itself?

Yes, but you can replace the whole kit from the Kit drop-down menu.

As far as I know, yes. Feels like a step backwards. And how do you save/load custom kit setups?

The presets in the top menu will save everything, including the kit. So if you want to save a preset (including the kit), just save a user preset in the bottom of that menu.

Ok Erik one last question. Just to make it clear and I’m really sorry if I sound like I’m being a bit stupid here but could you please tell me how to load the full kit for the high and dry kit in the EZX Rock! pack.
Thanks
Peter

Load the Rock! EZX, doesn’t matter which preset. Then you click on the small arrow on any drum to open Instrument Properties. Click on the Kit preset chooser (right below the Pitch knob) There you will find all the Kit Presets.

Sorry Erik, I see what you mean now, I thought the Kit button just selected that particular kit item (snare, cymbal, floortom, etc) and not the full kit but now I realise what it does.
I’ll go away now and leave you in peace, thanks for your help and patience with this, I really appreciate it.
Best regards,
Peter
No worries, just happy to help!

Hello,
I have the same problem… I understand the workaround, but is there any way to have the presets appear in the presets main drop down (top right of the UI) instead of having to load a kit, opening a piece drop down, opening the kits menu and then choosing the kit ?
@francois1723:
It’s not a workaround per se, it’s 2 different things. The Presets you load from the orange Presets drop-down are both loading sounds and mixer settings.
The Kit Preset loader “just” loads sounds. You can always start with selecting the base Preset for your needs and then load the Kits and save your own Presets, that you can load from the Preset drop-down.

Thank you for your reply. I didn’t realize these were two different things…
So when I use the Rock! package, I should load the Bright Ambient preset, then change the drumkit from the Kits dropdown.
But can I assume the Bright Ambient preset is optimized for all drum kits ? The mixer and effects settings from that preset should
sound good with any kit, no ajustment needed ?
I understand I can adjust everything to taste and then save to a user preset, but I’m not much of a knobtweaker…
I prefer to have good out of the box presets set by experts…
Thanks again !
Well, in general, yes. Some of the instruments might need a minor tweak, depending on the context but it’s hardly rocket science. A bit of level adjustment here, a bit of FX adjustment there… it’s your ears that decide.
