Hello All… I am currently running windows 8.1 64 bit, toontrack solo, ezdrummer 64 bit, the Nashville expansion, reaper and an m audio mtrack interface. ezdrummer loads and plays Manually (with the mouse, grooves etc) fine in solo and in reaper. I have a Yamaha dtx express II e drum kit that I want to use to record into reaper as well as play “live” for practice. I was not able to get the dtx to trigger anything in EZdrummer in SOLO. I was able to get reaper to record the midi info from the dtxpress. It seemed that the Mtrack was disabled for some reason in reapers midi in. Once enabled, I got midi info recorded. When I loaded EZdrummer, it triggered drums sounds. The mapping was off. But at least it did something. In SOLO, I have the mtrack selected as the device and edrums as the controller. But I m getting NOTHING from ezdrummer. Any ideas? Any links to threads that have this solved? Thanks rich
Selected like this: file://4795/50B3447C49AD4F088D3322AF292888E4.jpg Or, have you selected the MIDI device with a check mark in the box on the left? It should have a check mark if selected properly.

I believe that it was selected. It was highlighted but not sure about the check…How do you make the check mark? I’m hoping that this is the solution and it was just my stupidity… as I was able to get it to record midi data. But the mapping is off when ezdrummer is loaded as a plugin. It will be much easier to remap note values from the dtxpress brain if I can do it “live” thru solo. Thank you. rich
You just click on the box and it puts a check mark to indicate ‘selected’.

Cool… I clicked and double clicked and right clicked when I was setting it up earlier. Guess that I didn’t see the checkbox. I’ll let you know how I make out in the AM. Thanks again rich
Hi Scott… The checkbox surely was the culprit… 🙂 Got the dtxpress triggering pretty well. Played with a few of the note assignments and will play with the sensitivity. HOWEVER… I am experiencing quite a bit of latency. I ran the buffer down to 64 and still I have like a 1/16th note delay. I run asioforall in reaper and it is fine. But I can’t find any way to correct it in solo. ANy ideas on that? Thanks rich
Have you selected ASIO4ALL under Audio Device menu?

I originally had M-Track selected. But it seems that it was running thru the laptop sound card. When I selected asio4all, it wasn’t getting sound. I’ve since brought the laptop back to my office and played with the setting. It seems that if you have M track set as the default audio device in windows, it does NOT get set as the default device in asio4all. I’ve got it working with the mouse in solo with asio. So hopefully when I get back to the studio, it will work with the dtxpress. I will also check to make sure that the local sounds are turned off on the drum module. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thank you again so much rich
Thank you so much, Scott. Everything is up and running. Asio4All is selected as the interface in SOLO and in Reaper. The key is to select the native sound card as the default in windows for recording and playback. You can select asio4all as default in reaper and solo. Then, select the mtrack as default in asio4all. Also turning off the local triggering in the drum brain made a huge difference. Thank you again. If you can mark this thread “SOLVED”, it might be of help to others later rich
