Are you an e-drummer? A producer? Song writer? What needs in drum software do you have?

Thank you for the quick response, Scott! I am a Music Tech major at SPU in Seattle. I have been using/learning Pro Tools 11 since last September. Have had EZdrummer for about that long. What with school and all, I have not had as much time as I would like to get everything that I can out of EZdrummer but I love the sounds and the ease of use. I am a singer/songwriter. I like to play all of my own instruments and, not being a drummer AT ALL, EZdrummer is just what I need. I record and mix my own stuff and covers with Pro Tools. Just wondering if, in the long run, I am going to be satisfied with just upgrading to EZdrummer 2 or if I would be better off (at pretty much the same price) crossgrading to Superior Drummer. I guess, in the end, I am asking this as I am not totally clear on what the differences between the two products are. Although, I would imagine that Superior is the more “robust” of the two. That being said, any thoughts or advice? Thanks again! Matthew

I’m a songwriter and producer myself but I’m also an e-drummer. I use a Zendrum that triggers S2. If I wasn’t an e-drummer and a producer, I would be more than satisfied with using the new EZdrummer 2 product. It has some new songwriting tools that I find myself using more and more. Of course, the new kits that ship with EZD2 are more than worth the price of the upgrade as well as the MIDI. If you’re not needing the e-drum features of S2, I think you’d me more than happy with upgrading from EZD to EZ2.

One more question: Will my current ezdrummer expansion packs work with the new ezdrummer2?[8|]

Not in their current state no. But, there will be updates for each EZX available on the EZdrummer 2 launch day including updated graphics and presets that make use of the new effects in EZD2
