There are 3 settings that you need to adjust. First, Options->Audio->Audio Device…You need to select your audio output. This would be your computer speakers or other soundcard. What are your options there? Second, you need to select your MIDI Device. This would be your TD-15. Third, you select ‘E-drums’ for ‘Controller’. You’ll also need to adjust your Latency setting to get the best performance when using edrums. I also suggest reading through the Solo operation manual (Help->Operation Manual) for more details on the above settings.

Thanks for getting back to me.. Do you think I need to use a midi cable instead of the USB cable? It says “toontrack no midi device found” when trying to click on the midi Setting. Is this because I’m using a USB instead of midi cable or does this not matter? I also don’t see anything that says “my computer” under the audio device drop down. It says HDMI and TD 15 and one more thing on top(I’m at work and have to look again when I get home) Thank you

You shouldn’t need a MIDI cable if you’re using USB connection. It won’t specifically say ‘my computer’ under audio devices. It should list any audio outputs available on your computer. My guess is the one on top that you can’t remember is the one you want. Not sure why, when you have the TD15 plugged in, the MIDI device lists ‘no devices’.

I figured it out .., here’s what I did incase anybody else has this issue with triggering with the TD 15. I had to go to “audio Midi set up” found in the applications folder on my Mac. You have to activate the TD 15 by clicking on it. A computer rookie like myself doesn’t automatically know these things. Then you do what tech Scott said with picking the TD 15 in the midi drop down( make sure the box is checked) You click on e drums on the controller drop down and one last important thing. In the roland module you must do 2 things. First go to the midi section in the system section and turn local note chase to OFF. Then you must turn the midi lock off and set the roland to channel 10. And BAM!!!!! That was 2 days of hell but it feels good getting it going. Now my next question, Which Expansion pack is good for the most different acoustic drum sounds? I must say that the 20 or so different drum sounds is pretty lame in ez drummer. Am I missing something? Are there more sounds somewhere I’m missing? And yes I saw the cocktail kit.. Thanks guys.. Going to rock out!!!

The midi channel 10 is not a” must”. EzD, if i am not mistaken is omni so its listening to anything you throw at it. All the Rolands i have used from TD30,TD20x, TD15 down to TD9 and 4 have never needed any midi channel changes to talk to EZ. Re the sounds There not Lame HIT your TD15 HARDER Velocity , EzD rocks all over most the roland sounds. If you mean only having 20 sounds is lame as opposed to 512 non multi velocity dry sounds that is just your lack of knowledge about the product. Roland digitally mimic velocity with programming ,the room sounds are simulation and algo’s whereas TT actually sample every detail its real.
