    Well,

to me it seems like you are trying to run the update without having installed the full product first.
Did you click the big red ‘PC’ button first to download the full product?

I have the full version of EZDrummer installed and patched up to 1.3.3. For the sake of troubleshooting, I just re-downloaded the Latin Percussion file and ran the install, but the same error occurs.

EZDrummer is the plugin, what you need to run the drum libraries.

Latin Percussion is the drum library, the EZX. Download with the red arrow link or install from DVD.

You install the EZX, and then you install the 1.21 update. This is from the bottom section of the web page that says they are “Software Updates”.

Does this make sense or are we at cross-purposes?

Well, if I understand your terminology correctly, then Latin Percussion and Americana and Funkmasters (etc.) are all a form of EZX. And apparently there’s a 1.21 update for EZX that I missed, thanks for that. When I get home from work, I’ll look for this update.

However, I’m a bit mystified – if the problem is that I can’t install the EZX itself, then it doesn’t seem to make sense to install the update afterwards. Could you explain?

I’m not a programmer, but your log file looks like it’s updating rather that installing. I may have it round my neck, however, and log file messages like this are normal during installation.

I did initially think that you were trying to use the LP updater file instead of the actual installer first (as did John). Can you tell me how big the installer file is please? -that should settle whether you have the right file or not -the LP EZX installer is about 560MB.

It is always a good idea to make sure your EZDrummer plugin is fully up-to-date before installing EZX libraries as some of the later EZXs require recent EZD versions to function correctly. And as you hinted at above, make sure you fully extract the installer before running it, ie don’t run it directly from the zip.

Edit: I did think possible a permissions issue, but if you’ve tried to install as admin then I suppose not.

Actually, I cant see any LP updates, which is odd. I can’t update my DVD version if I reinstalled, I guess; I’ll have to download the newer full install. I do have two updaters in my archive, including the 1.2.1 version I think is current. I’m supposing TT have updated the install files, although it would be misleading to any people installing the LP EZX from DVD that there were no later versions. Over to you TT…

Hello, and thanks for your assistance. The installer executable is only a few MB:

However, the install folder is about 700MB:

As you mentioned, I don’t see any EZX updates, be they LP-specific or general purpose. I may try a thorough uninstall of all EZDrummer items, including registry entries; but if there are any alternatives, I’d rather go that way.

edit: also, this is on a solid state drive, but I don’t think that should make too much of a difference – especially as the other EZDrummer stuff is on the same drive. The only thing different about the Latin Percussion module is that it came from a download, whereas EZDrummer and Americana were from install disks.

Looks like you’re installing the right thing.

I’m worrying that this might be an issue with your SSD.

    Hi,

my bad, I didn’t remember that the Full Download of the Latin Percussion EZX had been updated, so I assumed you used an updater.
I forward this to my colleagues to see what they can find in this.

    John

could you please download the Full Product now and try again?
Should it still not work, please post the log and we will solve it together manually.

    Hi,

    thanks for the report.
Now, I would like you to do the following:

    1) Extract the latest full product download archive and navigate to the ‘Contents’ folder.
Inside it, there’s an ‘EZX_Percussion’ folder. Select it.

    2) Open a 2nd Explorer window and navigate to the “C:Program Files (x86)ToontrackEZDrummer” folder.

    3) Drag the ‘EZX_Percussion’ folder to the ‘EZdrummer’ folder.

There is a new MIDI installer uploaded to your Toontrack account and it would be interesting to see if it works on your system.
If the new MIDI installer fails, then:

    4) please drag the ’07@EZX_LATIN_PERCUSSION’ folder from your extracted “TT109_EZX_Latin_PercussionContentsMidi” folder to the “C:Program Files (x86)ToontrackEZDrummerMidi” folder.

    BR,
    John

    Hello John,

That seems to have taken care of the problem. I was able to launch the Percussion module and add the serial number to authorize it. I loaded a song that already had a percussion track and everything sounds ok.

    Thanks for all your help!

    Good!
Did you try the MIDI installer or the updater yet?
