HELP! Only hearing the DI nothing else

Totally new to the DAW game. I am running on an iMac with Logic Pro 9, with two zoom R16’s. What I am trying to figure out is, when I open LP9 and initialize EZMix2 with the Metal Gods expansion pack. I arm the track and thought I could hear the different tones from the software while I am recording. Am I wrong in thinking this or am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Hi,

I am not familiar with the ZOOM R16 but I gather it is a combined interface/control surface of sorts. Some units like these offer a direct monitoring of signals, without taking the round trip through the DAW software.
Also, in Logic, there is a preference setting on the Audio Preferences ‘Devices’ tab; Software Monitoring. This needs to be checked.
