Hi all, I lately converted a Yamaha stage custom for triggering use using ddt mesh heads and ddt dual sensor triggers. The interface is an Alesis trigger I/O.
I mapped all the kit pieces in accordance with the EZDrummer pop/rock keyboard layout and achieved great success with the setup.
THEN SOMETHING WEIRD HAPPENED……… all of a sudden 1st tom when hit triggered a crash cymbal!!!!!!!
I checked the trigger I/O to see if perhaps the midi note being sent had accidently been changed but no midi note 50 was allocated to rack tom 1 in the plugin.
I then changed the midi input device feeding the plugin with data to an M-Audio Ozonic keyboard and double checked to ensure no transpose or octave modes were engaged……….. located note 50 (D2) and hit it………..RESULT —- CRASH
The same thing happened in Toontrack’s solo app so I reckon the DAW not at fault which is Pro Tools version 10.2.0 on a intel mac with 7 Gig RAM and 2 X 2.66GHz. Even so I trashed the preferences (are there ones in ProTools for EZDrummer I missed???)
I then uninstalled all EZDrummer files using the uninstaller and installed a fresh downloaded version.
To no avail the tom is still producing a crash.
NOW THE WEIRD THING:
I restarted the mac from clone copy of my system drive contained on an external firewire drive and launched the same ProTools session and what would you know note 50 produced the RACK TOM and the kit triggers perfectly from the kit.
Reboot with the system drive and launch same session and note 50 produces the crash again!!!!!!!!!!
In SOLO and in ProTools.
So I have exhausted the things I can think of to fix this problem………….
Now I can set my tom to a rack tom alias – Note 48 and it works fine but I shoudn’t have to do this … NOTE 50 should and did produce the Rack tom 1 sample!!
Can any of you help?
Thanks in advance,,
Eugene
Ah the new version 1.3.2 has had a note change in the mapping layout and the prior one has not…………. explains why rebooting from another drive made it behave as I was used to it doing……….. the mapping hadn’t been changed at this stage…………
I updated to 1.3.2 earlier today but looks like the midi layout map hasn’t been changed….must take a look now!!!
All is well!!!
