Please a few questions – I think you’l find this very basic but I am confused and have done considerable reading.
I understand that inserts are to be applied to channel strips and the group bus, aux and master types go into the respective insert slots on those channels.
Should I have individual inserts on each of the components of a multichannel drum set then route all to an aux or group bus with it’s own insert before sending to the master out which will in turn have a mastering insert?
Please forgive the basicness of this question. I just don’t want to be either redundant or put settings that will compete with each other thus degrading things. I also don’t want to overload the computer which I am finding I can do.
So put another way, Tape Drive hats insert on hi hat channel strip send to group bus – group bus for all drums which has analougue Fat Phase insert send to – stereo out which has Sub – Un sub mastering insert on it? As I understand it, they have the compressors built in there, etc. correct?
