New here, so hi and thanks for any responses I may get
I have been using EZ Drummer for a while now and am looking to buy my first EZX pack to give me a few more sounds and options.
I produce mainly rock music, leaning towards progressive rather than classic or out and out metal.
I quite like the sounds of the basic kit (particularly the “tight” kit) but I am finding it limiting not being able to set levels on cymbals.
Whenever I raise the overhead mixer channel to a level where I am happy with the cymbals I find the hats too intrusive.
The metal packs seem the most comprehensive but the demos are so “metal” that I’m struggling to decide whether they would be suitable for less aggressive styles (or whether any of the provided midi files would be of any use to me).
Would any of the EZX packs allow me greater control over cymbal levels?
Thanks.
You can remove the hi-hat from the Overhead channel from the EZdrummer mixer. Switch the bleed control to the ‘Off’ position for the Overhead channel.
There is no way to individually control the level of each cymbal in EZdrummer but a workaround might be to load each cymbal in it’s own instance of EZdrummer and route accordingly in your DAW. This will allow for each cymbal to be control by the Overhead channel in each instance of EZdrummer that are for ‘cymbals’. That may or may not be worth the setup time.
