Hi,
It’s my first time here, sorry to introduce myself with a little problem.
The manual says:
“select the ‘User MIDI folder’ entry from the Help Menu to open the ‘MY MIDIFILES’ folder on your Desktop, and place and organize your grooves labelled as you see fit.”
But when I select the “User MIDI folder” nothing happens. I suspect this is because the folder does not exist and was not installed, as I chose not to install the 8000 loops, only EZDrummer. My question is if I create this folder will it work? Also where shall I put it and what exactly to name it?
Thanks.
Do you mean you only installed the EZdrummer plugin but not the full product? Are you able to use all the kit pieces (kicks, snares, toms, hi-hat, cymbals, etc)?
There is no install option to install the EZdrummer sounds/plugin but not the MIDI library/directory.

Thanks for your reply.
The whole kit is fully functional as far as I can tell. Maybe this picture will help explain the installation procedure.
Hope the image loads alright.
The EZD plugin was installed, but none of the MIDI files were, just as I desired. Another interesting thing to notice is that the User Mixer Presets folder was apparently installed.
If you click on the ‘Home directory’ you will see where the sounds and MIDI were installed. Inside that ‘midi’ location there should be the user midi folder.

I only installed the “EZDrummer Plugin” not the “Home Directory” which is why the 8000 MIDI loops were not installed on my computer. Do I have to install that section in order to use my own MIDI files with EZdrummer?
Or maybe you could give me the path to that User MIDI folder, and I could create it myself?
You can’t choose NOT to install the ‘Home Directory’, even when doing a Custom Install.
I would suggest uninstalling everything EZdrummer from the Programs and Features from the Control Panel in W7.
Then, run the EZdrummer installer again and take note of the EZHome directory location. This EZHome location is where the sounds and MIDI are installed to. You say you have all the sounds installed but not the MIDI but the installer installs both to the EZHome location and there is no choice to install the Sounds but not the MIDI.
I’m wondering if you are running the Lite version and not the full version. Can you confirm that you can load all the sounds in EZD (toms, for example)?

I used to run Lite but recently purchased the upgrade. All of the sounds work great.
I am working on a Vista. I opened my installation folder again, and see the EZHome in the same folder as the installer, but nowhere on my Computer’s harddrive.
What I do see is Program Files>Toontrack>EZDrummer>MIDI. Does EZDrummer scan that folder?, as I see a few old Lite MIDI loop folders whose files I have since deleted.
I really want to do anything in my power to avoid a reinstall since the whole kit has been working well.
I can really only suggest uninstalling and running the full product installer. If you’ve manually deleted stuff its impossible to troubleshoot unless the install is clean to start with.
Of course its up to you to reinstall or not, but there’s not much more I can suggest at this point.
