I just got my product, so please bear over with any beginner flaws I’m dealing with. 🙂
But I got my EZD with metal machine with the mail today, installed and tried to open my cubase and use it. It’s not found under the VST instruments where all my other instruments are found by default (like NI massive). It’s said in the manual that it should recognize and install in relation to the DAW of choice, but now what? I also tried to manually copy-paste the drums into the folder to no avail.
I’m stuck with a rather expensive desktop playset, which I really want to fix. :/
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
could you please post your system specifications in your profile and/or signature?
We need to know which hardware, OS, etc. you are using and if you have run any updates.
Please do NOT perform any manual moving or copying of anything since it will only make your system more prone to fail to function properly.
Best Regards,
John

I can’t quite remember my exact specs on my machine, but it’s a Packard Bell desktop with an Intel i7 2.80 GHz processor and a standard 7200 RPM harddrive. And I’m running Windows 7 home premium 64bit, i reckon. I don’t think any more specs are actually needed to make a conclusion. I’ve never heard about graphics card being an issue in cases like these. 🙂
I’ve previously run Reaper and FL studio on my computer, along with trial versions of cubase, but those were deleted from the computer, as far as I can see.
I haven’t run any updates on the computer since the installation of the program(s).
And I haven’t moved anything; I copied the files from the original installation folder into my DAW, so I can easily rewind past actions.
OK,
please download and install EZdrummer 1.3.1 and be sure to also run the 64-bit installer.
The 64-bit plugin dll file Default installs to ‘C:Program FilesVstPluginsToontrack64bit’, which is the path you need to tell Cubase 64-bit to include in its VST scan.
The 32-bit plugin dll file along with the shared data Defaults under ‘Program Files (x86)’

ive got the same problem except that i also cant even browse in the explorer and see ezdrummer but it is for sure installed as i had dl the files from here but then tried to do a fresh or replacement install from the disk but it denied due to ezdrummer already being installed
If you perform a Search for ‘ezdrummer.dll’, do you get any hits? Have you installed Toontrack solo? If so, can EZdrummer be loaded?

yes solo is installed no search doesnt find it cubase doesnt see it and solo doesnt see it and when i try a fresh install it requires me to uninstall the already installed version which explorere cubase and solo cant see…..adn then it takes 11 hours to even get a response form technical support that they cant talk to me in real time…..seriously i have lost two clients 24 hours of work time and 200 dollars for a product on a simple install process they should have worked out 2 years ago….windows7 is not that new neithe ris ezd
Are you following the general advice that you should download the Full Installer (equals a DVD in size) from your account and run it, since the DVD is most likely printed pre Window 7?
If not, please click the big red ‘PC’ button in your account on the EZdrummer page to download it and ,yes, do uninstall any EZdrummer entry first found in Add/Remove Programs.
Next, please apply the 1.3.1 update.
Also please make sure you have the latest Toontrack solo version installed.

John

yeah i did that first actually then tried to do from the dvd neither worked then i tried to uninstall and it wouldnt do that so i tried to reinstall again and it gave me the option to uninstall or repair repair didnt work and it failed to install for the thrid time on the download…..tried to install again from dvd and it started and went through then failed at the end again i tried the patch that didnt work then the download did work and showed up in solo so i did all that for mh but it still didnt recognize opene cubase nothing again went back to solo tried metal heads and found it but it wouldnt play then i updated ezd and mh would play but it wouldnt recognize in cubase then i closed both and opened cubase only and it didnt recog then opened solo ez and mh worked and ex would show in cubase but wouldnt play so i checked the paths an dmade sure the direct was added metal head still didnt work but ezd was perfect so i changed drum types an dplayed around tried to open mh nothing changed the groove and mixer settings went back out of nowhere mh shows up and eveyrthing is just fine…….but as a new customer straight off the rip 48 hours later with the potential to make money based on that one option and it not to work was a little ridiculous….add to it it took 11 hours to get a return email and i still havent goten anything but an article to read that i had already gone through
and it still boggles my mind how people keep telling me to right click in win7 to extract adn for me that isnt an option they keep showing a screen with like 15 things in the menu but i only get four or five and extract isnt one of them
Hi,
you aren’t running Toontrack solo and Cubase at the same time, are you? If so, please don’t.
If you have installed from the Full Download and run the the 1.3.1 updaters for both 32-bit and 64-bit hosts, you should be OK by following the above advice for scanning the right .dll file depending on whether you are running Cubase 32-bit or 64-bit.
