Cant REC Midi in DAW from EZ

Hi all, i have EZ Drummer open in Reaper. It works Fine if i Drag Midi files from It to Reaper (DAW) then Render it to Audio.

BUT, if i load it on a Track and Play the Drums MANUALY (ie , little accents with Mouse) i get NO Midi REC Data to the DAW (on the track – it IS set up as a Midi-VSTi Track).

Also, if i Send the Audio (from VSTi track) to another (Audio REC) Track, it monitors fine WHILE Audio Track is Not Armed but as soon as i Arm it to REC, NO AUDIO. Please tell me this is NOT a limitation of EZ Drummer? (Wont let you REC Manual-Live Midi or Send -REC the Audio ). If not , what do i need to adjust?

You can t record mouse events as they are not midi events,you need a keyboard or mouse them into the grid where they represent midi notes.

ok…thanks ! is it poss to assign Midi CC’s (on Midi Keyboard-Axiom) to EZ and Play it on Midi Controller and the track will REC the Data then? When you say grid, do you mean the Piano Roll or the Track itself?

I am not so good at Midi Composing and am looking for a way to Play the diff drums, and EZ will Write the Midi Data when Played….

Yes, you can use any MIDI controller (keyboard) to trigger the drum samples in EZD and record the results in Reaper. Check the mapping layout from the ‘?’ menu in EZD to see what keys trigger the samples you want.
