    I can’t help you with the PT question but the reason that you hear the hat even though you bring the fader all the way down is because the sounds were recorded like a real ‘live’ drum session. There is drums/cymbals/hat signals in the Overhead and Room channel. If you want to just have hats in the ‘Hihat’ channel, turn off the ‘Bleed’ in the Overhead channel (this will allow only the crashes and ride to be present in the Overhead channel) and also mute the Room channel. But, personally, the overheads and room bleed offer a more ‘realistic’ sound but it depends on the song style and vibe you’re going for.

    I think you are simply looking at very short notes.
