Howdy –
Ok – decided to take advantage of the Musicians Friend upgrade path, noted the link in an earlier post. Got my key via email, found my way to the “new products” page and entered it. Nothing else seemed to happen, so I found my way to the”downloads” page and sure enough – there’s an EZd Lite Upgrade section. D/L’d the appropriate files – so far, so good.
Unpacked the files, ran the installer – and it tells me that “the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may apply to a different version of the program” – some such.
Well, the “program to be upgraded” certainly isn’t missing, it’s running just fine inside Studio One. So – wha’ happen??
Details That May Pertain –
A) Doing some system maintainance I had uninstalled the Lite version via Windows Add/Remove – re-installed later with no problems, but received no autho challenge, it just fired right up, so I assume the original autho was lurking in the registry somewhere….
B) Currently running just the plug-in version, I have not re-installed the standalone or cocktail.
C) The original install file is named TT106L etc
D) The upgrade file is labeled EZdrummer_WIN_121
And now you know as much as I do – hopefully more.
What’s gone wrong – can ya help a brother out, here?
Thanks!!
Ric
edit – this is being posted on a Sun nite, gotta do the day gig thru the week, so don’t be surprised if it takes me a day to get back to any responses….
D) The upgrade file is labeled EZdrummer_WIN_121
That is the update download not the full product download.
Log into your account and download the full product from your EZdrummer page under ‘My Products’. Click the red ‘PC’ button.

Hey! There’s my backwoods guy – doing it now, Scott, thanks tons!!
Question – will I then want/need to run that update installer – current rev? (EDIT – never mind, caught the little blurb from the download screen. Apparently the answer is yes…)
Say Hi to the woods of Mass for me – I do miss’em sometimes…. (not when it’s 5ft deep in snow, tho – don’t see mucha that here in the Phoenix desert..
EDIT AGAIN – just wanna say Scott – your quick and friendly response originally, and the offer to assemble a demo for me, were the deciding factors in going full pop. You’re a credit to your outfit – and let them know I said so!!
Question – will I then want/need to run that update installer – current rev?
Yes.
I would recommend uninstalling the ‘EZD Lite’ and then installing the full product (the one you’re downloading now). Then run that 1.2.1 update.
BTW, freezing my @ss off here in the woods as it’s getting down to -30°F wind chill tonight
