Okay, I’m going to give that a try when I get home. I still confused, however, as to why step 3 prompted me to fill out all the information–name, email address, location, PC or Mach user, etc.–when that wasn’t neccesary. It never gave me another option.

Anyway, thanks for the assistance. This should work fine, now that I know what to do.

I’m not sure what you are referring to. Are you talking about step 3 in the video/authorization screen? The ‘Go to http://www.toontrack.com/register and follow the instructions’? If so, this step creates a user account that all of your products get registered to. The name and email address is useful for finding you in our system if needs be and knowing if you use a Mac or PC is useful for trouble shooting problems if any arise.

    Hi Scott,

Thanks for the help in getting registered. That’s one proglem down…

Here’s my new problem…and wouldn’t you know it…After registering I could not get EZdrummer to output any audio…Everything is setup properly on my soundcard, and audio is streaming fine from my computer through my mixer in every other app. The message that I got was “need to install EZplayer.”….The intial install doesn’t have EZplayer as an independent option for install..

Then I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, which took forever, only to discover that the program is now not showing up in my Program Files…can’t even find it, but according to the driver it’s there because the disc won’t give me the option to install or open the program (it only allows me to uninstall, which I really don’t want to do again).

Scott, I’ve got many hours into this so far, and I can’t tell you how frustrated I am. Three hours in today alone, just to go through this, and I still couldn’t tell you whether EZdrummer sounds good or can do anything…..baning head aginst the wall.

Please help, and believe me, your assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Chris

BTW, the edit function doesn’t seem to be working on this board. Simply clicking on the “edit” button above my post doesn’t do anything….just wanted to point that out becuase I’m typing fast; I’m frustrated, and I don’t want everyone thinking I’m a complete dolt, even though I’m beinning to wonder if I’m not after tonight.

    Happy New Year,

    Chris

    Hi again,

Okay, I got EZdrummer up and loaded again, and it’s now showing up in my program files. However, I’m still having the same problem that I experienced before. I’m not getting any audio out of the drums…I can see them lighting up, but there’s no sound…Plus, I keep getting a message that I need to load EZplayer, but where in the world is EZplayer located for me to load it?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hi,

if you are getting the message about EZplayer, it’s because you are clicking the EZplayer launch button in the Toolbar (looks like a ‘play’ button). If you do not own EZplayer, simply don’t click it, cause you will get the error message.

Regarding the sound issue: have you entered the ‘Audio Device’ settings under ‘Options’ in Toontrack solo?
Please check that your audio interface driver is selected and also check channel output and latency settings.

    Best Regards,
    John

    Jhon,

    Thanks for the response.

The sound device was the first thing I looked at (check; that’s good-to-go). The channel setting is set to 1-2 by default and doesn’t allow me the option to have anything else set there. As for latency, I’ve tried every latency setting availalle, and I’m still not getting any sound out of the drums. When I launch the tutorial or work any other apps I have no problem with getting audio. As far as I can tell, my soundcard is set properly. So, I’m not sure where the problem could be.

    Thanks again for your assistance,

    Chris

Hello, I am new to toontracks.  I just bought ez drummer to provide drumtracks for songs within pro tools 8 on a PC.   I am still learning protools so I am a rookie when it comes to computer recording.  My problem is that I was able to register the product but I get to the “Authorize Product” screen and it asks for the Computer ID.  I can’t find the screen where the computer ID is located so I can’t authorize the product.  Also, once authorized will the ezdrummer plug in automatically display as an instrument option in PT8 or is there a procedure for PT8 to be able to look at the EZdrummer plugin as an VI option in PT.

Thanks.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Chris,

this seems very strange. What kind of Audio interface are you using?
Does it have ASIO drivers? Have you updated it’s drivers? Is something else claiming the Audio Driver while you run Toontrack solo?

    BR,
    John
