To be honest, I reckon you’re pretty much there, couple of things, I know music never has to be exact, but I would say bring the snare a bit more forward, get a bit more bottom in there, drop a bit of bass off the toms, and after that maybe thin out the guitars a touch then bring the whole mix up to suit on the master bus (bit of a bodge way of doing it, but gets results easily for testing) also the only other thing I would say and please don’t take offence but if you’re doubling guitars I would work more with a gate on the sound and just lining up left and right channels a touch more, the recording doesn’t has to be spot on, in fact that’s half of what you’re looking for – check out the following two links to see that you can get a huge but yet still tight sound using the Haas effect to your advantage….
