I’m trying to authorize Beatstation.
I know I’m missing something simple but I can’t find the computer ID anywhere.
It says it is on the authorization screen.
Where’s that??
Could use a little help.
thanks
Open Beatstation in either standalone mode (there should be a shortcut on your Desktop) or load it as a VSTi in your host and the authorization screen will pop up with the Computer ID.
Please fill in your system specs on your Member Profile page.

Hey Scott,
Thanks for the fast reply.
I have an Intel Mac by the way.
It won’t open up as either a standalone or as an AU.
And why would it open if it’s not authorized yet??
It won’t open up as either a standalone or as an AU.
Does that mean you can’t find the standalone version to open or the AU/VST version isn’t available in your host to select? Or both? Or something else?
And why would it open if it’s not authorized yet??
It would open because that is how you authorize it. The first time you open the standalone version or load the AU/VST version the authorization screen will pop up. You can’t access the authorization any other way.
See this video below. It shows EZdrummer authorization but it is similar for Beatstation.

Scott,
When I try to open the standalone, Applications>Toontrack>Beatstation, I get an error message:
Beatstation quit unexpectedly.
When I try to open it in Digital Performer it fails the AU examination.
comequat,
did you download and apply the latest 1.0.2 update before launching?
You are not running DP at the same time as you are trying to launch Beatstation Standalone?

Hi guys,
I’m back again.
I know I’m not a lot of fun to deal with but here’s where I’m at now.
Last night before bed I ran ONYX.
This morning I tried a new install (without VST and RTAS versions)
I’m aware that I need the VST download to use it in standalone mode. But I’m only using the AU version.
The reason is because I got the closest to making it work that way.
I am downloading V1.02 Beatstation.
I have deleted the 2 authorizations I had.
I tried to start anew this morning.
No luck.
I think maybe I’ll try to open it in Audio Finder instead of Digital Performer.
Any suggestions would be really helpful at this point.
thanks
Hi comequat,
I have a MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.4 and I have tested Beatstation 1.0.2 now both in Standalone and with DP 7.12 and DP 7.21 with no problems at all.
Which is your exact OS build and DP 7 version?
BR,
John

Hey John,
I didn’t know 10.6.4 was out yet.
I have 10.6.3. on a 2 x 3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon 16 GB RAM.
I tried a new reinstall this morning. And installed everything the whole I think 66 meg, with RTAS and VST and Standallone and AU.
When I tried to open the stand alone I got the beachball for about 10 seconds and then it crashed.
Should I send you the crash log?
Also when I run the auvatool on it it quits unexpectedly.
I am relatively sure that upgrading to 10.6.4 would not resolve the matter (Beatstation has been tested for many months including at times where 10.6.3 was the common build for Snow Leopard)… it’s not a bad idea to do so however but before you do please send your log to supporttoontrack•com, referencing this thread and asking it is passed onto me.

Rogue,
Do you know where the crash report is?
I thought it was under Library>Logs>Crash Reporter
But there is nothing in there.
thanks
OK I’m good to go now.
You guys will be very glad to get rid of me.
But just so you know here was the problem:
I must have reinstalled and uninstalled about 7 times.
And every time I downloaded Beatstation_MAC_102.dmg from the website it loaded as about a 66 meg file.
And when I installed that 66 meg file onto my Mac it said that the installation was successful!
So I’m thinking each time that the install was fine.
But the last time I loaded the same Beatstation_MAC_102.dmg from your website it loaded as a 1.44 gig file.
This one installed absolutely fine and I was up and going in about 2 minutes. Like you would expect.
So just so you don’t think I’m crazy (my wife already does) but that was a pretty weird experience.
