Is there any way Drumtracker converting the MIDI in the exact timeline as the analyzed audio file i. e. it lines up the events in the exact time of the wav file?
I always have to enter a bpm value for the tempo map when converting but it may not always be 100 percent correct all the way through so the MIDI events don’t line up correctly later on.
there are 2 main ways to use Drumtraker in respect to tempo map:
– if your track was not played against a conductor/tempo track or against a simple tempo map then set the value matching your originating host project or target project.
– if your track was played against a complex tempo map then import it at export time. You can very simply generate the tempo map by exporting a MIDI file from your host project (at least it should be simple if your host is comprehensive).
… if I missed the point of your question, post more details and maybe we can avoid the EITHER OR description that may add to the confusion rather than clarify the matter.

Hello I’m using Cubase 5, and the tempotrack Cubase exports is a .smt file not a .mid
Sure enough I’m having troubles lining up.
Anyway for drumtracker to accept .smt files?

no, you must export your track as a standard midi file (ensuring you have a note at the very start and very end, and of course importing the audio with any silence it may have before the drums kick in).
