Hi. Can you tell me how to map the midi drums recorded on my Roland XP80 to Ezdrummer in Pro-Tools 8.1. Presently they are recorded on the wrong place in the midi track in Pro-Tools, edited and added to. Drums and Precussion not even recorded on the XP80 appear on the midi track in Pro-Tools making for a complete mess of drums. Thanks, Nigel.
Hi Nigel,
I’m a bit unsure of what you mean exactly but EZdrummer MIDI mapping is an extended version of GM standard.
So anything General MIDI compliant will play back correctly -unless it is a combination of drums and percussion MIDI.
Percussion MIDI will only play back correctly with the Latin Percussion EZX.
If you are hearing Percussion when you play back your MIDI in Pro Tools, my best guess is that you do not feed the MIDI to the EZdrummer plugin but to another sound source.
Best Regards,
John
