Hi, Just installed and updated Drumtracker to ver. 1.0.2. Unlike my other Toontrack products, I’m disappointed so far….I’m having difficulty getting the sensitivity controls to respond at all. I just imported a recorded snare audio track, and the lighter hits are not getting picked up….tried changing the filter presets/sensitivity/frequency settings….no improvement or change whatsoever. And these are not really light ghost notes that it’s missing, in fact some are as strong as others that are being detected.
I’ve tried this in various other places in the waveform with the same results….it only picks up the strongest hits, and not even all of them…
Also, the program crashed twice upon the first install off the disk….hopefully it won’t again since the update. If I can’t get the sensitivity issues fixed, this program is worthless to me….hopefully someone can help. Here’s a screenshot of what I’m experiencing. You’ll notice it only detected six of the ten major hits -not even counting some ghost notes- within the part selection range.
This is on a Windows XP system, if that makes a difference.
Thanks.

right, maybe I misunderstand your description but from your screenshot it seems quite obvioius that the ‘threshold’ (the red lines across the screen) is way too high. See page 17 of the manual for details.

Just click on it, it will close.

There are 2 things you can do if Drumtracker isn’t picking up all of the hits.
First, you can lower the threshold (the red line in your screencap) for the entire track. Select the ‘Part Tool’, grab the red line and drag it down.
Or, if you find that just a couple of hits aren’t being detected, you can adjust the threshold for just those sections/hits. Again, with the ‘Part Tool’, hold the Control/Command key then click and drag the threshold down.
And, like Rogue suggested, check the Drumtracker manual on page 17 for more details.

Thanks for that info guys. Not sure why I’d have to manually move the line up or down, as I figured that’s what the sensitivity/threshold slider was for. As soon as I can get Drumtracker to open, I’ll be happy to check that out. Now every time I open the program and then add a new input track, it starts to read the file and then closes with a “runtime error” message. Fun stuff! I’ll try removing/reinstalling the software before I call Toontrack up for a refund. Not impressed.
Hi,
are you running XP with Boot Camp?
Best Regards,

Yes I’m running XP with Boot Camp on an Intel Mac. I just reinstalled the software, and I adjusted the sensitivity/threshold via the red line. That seemed to do the trick. I was using the sensitivity slider. So far the program hasn’t crashed. I guess I need to dig deeper into the manual, but can this software run as a plugin within a DAW. It would be great if I could just open this within the timeline on an audio track and have it export to a new MIDI track, rather than having to export separately, then import the MIDI info into a DAW.
Thanks.
