Hi!
So I’ve purchased EZ drummer today, though I’ve spent the last three hours trying to make it work, but without succes!
So I’ve already scrolled through lots of forum threads about this issue, and they all say I have to tell Reaper where the ezdrummer.dll file is, by going in preferences > Vst > and direct it to /program files/Vstplugins ..
It still doesn’t work! Nothing shows up!
I am aware that it is not called EZ drummer in the FX browser, but there is nothing but (cockos) in there!
Toontrack solo works fine.
I downloaded a demo of Fruity Loops, and i could get EZ drummer to pop up there..
Is it because i have Vista 64 ? Should i consider changing back to XP?
Or do I have to reinstall EZ drummer and direct the ezdrummer.dll into the Plugin folder in Reaper? (which I am trying out as i write this) I tried just to copy it in there, but that didn’t work either.
I’ve already tried reinstalling Reaper.
.. I’m getting increasingly frustrated and irritated since I’ve spent so much money on it, and really looked forward to using it and it doesn’t work!
If you have ANY suggestion, I would really appreciate it! (and if I’ve left out any valuable info, please let me know)
Thanks!

To load EZD in Reaper, make sure you select ‘Insert virtual instrument on new track’ and select EZdrummer from the menu. Or, I guess, you could just create a track but you need to select the ‘Instrument’ category from the far left column in the ‘Add FX to:’ menu.

1. Did you add the path where the ezdrummer.dll is installed to the VST plugin path(s) of Reaper? This is probably something like c:Program FilesSteinbergVstPlugins or c:Program FilesVstPlugins
2. The plugin name has Toontrack in it so you must search for this.
I don’t have any issues with finding and loading EZDrummer in Reaper under 64bits Vista or Windows 7.
Please let us know if you still can’t get it to work?

In addition, I just checked Reaper, and for some reason EZdrummer is listed as ‘Dfh Sampler (Toontrack)’ instead of EZdrummer.

Hi Guys! It works for me now. The issue was that i used Reaper 64 bit version, and apparently EZ drummer only shows in the non 64 bit version of Reaper!
It works perfectly fine, and I’ve already constructed some badass drum tracks 😉
Thanks for the help anyway!
Correct, since EZD is a 32-bits plugin it doesn’t work in Reaper 64 since it has not bridging functionality currently.
You can try JBridge to use EZD in Reaper 64. Download here: http://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/

Hey, I’ve been having the same exact problem. I can’t get EZD/DFH Sampler to show in the VST plugins. How’d you get yours to work finally? I’m stuck.
Let the metal flow!
I have the same problem aswell. I know where the .dll file is and but when opening reaper which is 32 bit it does not show up. I tried scanning for it and it still does not show up what shall i do ?
If you have a 64-bit computer, EZ drummer is 32-bit, so you would copy the folder into your 64-bit Program Files from Program files (x86) (32bit). Then you have to copy the file location under Options, Preferences, Plug-ins, VST and add the folder in the space provided, hit add, then hit rescan. Look for my post in the Reaper forums this is insufficient explanation. It will show up as “(bridged)”. When you go to insert new track with virtual instrument, EZ drummer should show up.
I used ez drummer no problem with reaper 64 bit.
The only issue I had was discovering what Scott said. Its called dfh sampler not ez drummer
Cannot find an ezdrummer in the virtual instrument track, just 3 cuckoos
things that when clicked on look nothing or act nothing like ez drummer in stand alone mode.
Also, It would be nice to assign some keys to the drums to play them.
