Hi Toontrack Support!
I bought the Upright EBX for a project, but I’ve encountered a significant issue with it. Specifically, one of the note’s round robins includes a selection of sounds that don’t match. The project’s key is C major, and the bass in the song frequently plays low C notes in succession. However, some of these notes have a slight “slide up” effect, as if the left hand isn’t staying in place but drifting off by a certain number of cents – we’re not talking a tone or half of a tone, but rather I don’t know 20 cents maybe? It’s definatelly hearable/noticeable. Consequently, playing them that way sounds unpleasant. Could this issue be rectified? In the past, I’ve been able to fix similar problems with VST instruments when I had access to the samples, but Toontrack instruments don’t afford that option. I would take Celemony Melodyne and just smash these samples with a hammer to make them nice and flat 😉 I’d greatly appreciate your assistance in tuning these problematic samples so that their attack aligns precisely on the C note and not slightly below it. To summarise, a few of the low C samples in the round robin have their attack slightly below C. While the performer who recorded them corrected this by returning to exact C, the beginnings of these samples remain out of tune. This creates a jarring effect, especially when playing rapid sequences of C notes. I hope this clarifies the issue. Both EZbass and Upright are up to date.
P.S. You can gauge my desperation to use this Upright in the project by the sheer number of words I’ve used… Please help 🙂
