So, my drummer has an Alesis Strike e-kit. So naturally, when he records demos, he uses the Strike MIDI Map preset and then sends me the MIDI files. The problem is, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to have EZ3’s built-in grid editor (which I prefer to use because of the humanization features) reflect the alternate MIDI map. If you drag a file into the timeline, it just defaults to the Toontrack Standard map in the grid editor. Is there any possible way around this??
SOLUTION: Minutes after posting this, I figured out the solution. I was attempting to edit the mapping AFTER importing the file, whereas if you select the mapping before importing the file, it prompts you to “Apply Mapping Preset” which fixes the issue.
