Hi,
I am experimenting with the swing feature to get my 8ths positioned for optimal feel, and I have the following questions:
Is there any way to see position information for a specific note? For example, in Pro Tools midi editor, one can see what bar, beat and sub beat the note is positioned at.
Is there any way to see how much swing I have applied to a note or set of notes after the fact? It appears that whatever % I use is hard-written, so I then need to take detailed notes in order to understand what I did and apply the same amount of swing to other grooves, or notes I add to the existing groove.
Is there any way to set the swing for an entire groove so that the grid I am snapping to is defined by that amount of swing? As it is, I have to write the groove on the straight grid, then apply swing, then any time I add any eighths, I have to swing them and keep track of everything as I go. If I could simply set the 8ths grid so that whatever I write would snap to the grid, it would be helpful.
At a higher level, is it possible to set the swing of the grid of an entire song or track globally so that if I use a new groove or write one from an empty block it automatically conforms to that amount of swing?
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
