I’m still pretty new at this so please forgive me if this is just plain dumb…
If SD3 creates a stereo track of, say, the snare drum, should I then ONLY use that stereo track for the snare sound in my song?
Would hard-panning that single stereo track to, say, the left and then using another stereo track of that same snare drum panned to the right be a no-no? FWIW, I’ve found that manually delaying the track (and I’m not talking about the effect called Delay here…I’m talking about actually causing one of the tracks to start playing later than the other track) can fatten the sound of the drums pretty well.
The other half of this question is how does one handle a groove that has 2 kick drums?
From what I can tell, if the groove has 2 kick drums, the pattern played takes place as if it was played on a single kick.
That makes a L/R pair of the 2 kick drums difficult (at best) and/or impossible (at worst).
Am I missing something?
Thanks for any advice!
