yes, I use garage band on the mac. I record mostly metal, from heavy to death/core. Honestly, I usually have a single ezdrummer drum track and two guitar tracks, panned L/R, and a bass up the middle. Guitars are done with tube amp into torpedo captor into the DI with various IR’s. (not a fan of amp sims, but hey, that’s me). The DI level isn’t really that high on the guitars. I’ll either use the audio tracker to match the riffs or for rhythm tracks just use a metal groove. It works great in every way, except…
I’m not hearing the bass. I have to crank up the midi volume on ezbass to just barely hear it. Granted, I play in drop A on the 7 string, and C#/drop B on the 6 and that’s cutting into bass territory in the mix. But even in standard tuning, it’s not very audible. If I make a jam backing track, one drum track and one bass track, it’s still not very audible.
I am thinking of maybe lowering the mix volume on guitars and maybe boosting final master volume? dunno. was hoping that I could get ezbass to just go into the tracks with a little bit more volume. unless I’m doing something wrong??
