how to install and connect a midi keybord

  IVE INSTALLED THE KEYBORD WITH EZ AND IT WORKS ECXEPT THERE IS A DELAY BETWEEN HITTING THE KEYS AND PLAYING THE KIT :TOO SLOW ? IM USING GENERAL MIDI ON MY KEYBORD, EDIROL MID CONVERTER,
