This is not a pre-sales question really for I have already ordered but not yet received EZDrummer. I just want to make sure I understand how it works — before I break the shrink-wrap seal.
It has been quite a while since I have composed music and back then I used a smaller computer with Creative Labs sound-card and sound-fonts. That is how I made my drum tracks: GM Midi + sound fonts.
I now use Cubase SX-3 with an M-Audio Audiophile card and it has no sound-fonts. I got EZDrummer because of its hybrid MIDI-sample nature. That is: it has the flexibility of MIDI but the sounds are actually samples triggered by MIDI, in my case on a PC, .wav files — that are all included in the product.
So I do not need to get anything else, i.e. sound fonts.
I am ready to go right out of the box.
— Correct or incorrect?
Thanks.

correct: Cubase+EZdrummer will allow you to write tracks in whichever method you prefer (use included patterns, program in ‘piano roll’, or with the addition of a MIDI keyboard play them in).

OK, thanks for reply and clarification on what I thought was the case but just wanted to make 100% sure was the case. Now I’ll be able to un-shrink-wrap that baby when it comes in and go to town.
Having ordered it at Amazon/Musician’s Friend a couple of days ago for only USD $99 makes this present to myself that much sweeter :o)
