    From the FAQ:

IS IT NECESSARY TO INSTALL THE FULL 230 GB SOUND LIBRARY?
No, the sound library download is divided into 5 parts. The minimum install size is approximately 41 GB.
Below are the specific downloads for the sound library. Sound library downloads must be installed in order.
Download 1: “Basic Sound Library” (All instruments, all tools and all articulations in close mics, OH Dyn and Amb Ribbon. Bleed in Snare Bottom (Kick and toms) , Approx. estimate 40gb)
Download 2: “Room Mics 1” (The rest of the Room mics: OH Cond, Amb Near, Amb Mid).
Download 3: “Room Mics 2 – Surround (5 ch)” (extra mics to achieve 5.0 surround, Front L/R, Center and Surround L/R)
Download 4: “Room Mics 3 – Height Surround (6 ch)” (extra mics to achieve 11.0 surround, Front Height, Rear Height and Rear Height Wide )
Download 5: “Extra Bleed” (The rest of the bleed in the close mics)

The “Extra Bleed”… is that like a cymbal bleeding into a tom’s mic or a tom bleeding into another tom’s mic?

I would love to see a quick video showing the difference in sound with the basic install and full install with all mics. I think that will help everyone decide what they need or want.

    Thanks!

    Erik,
So I understand this correctly; if I buy SD3, I get all SD3 and all those libraries you listed – all included in the one price?
The sound library is configured in six (6) convenient download packages.
    1. “Software” (approx. 230 MB)
    2. “Basic Sound Library” (approx. 40 GB)
    3. “Room” (approx. 46 GB)
    4. “Surround 1” (approx. 43 GB)
    5. “Surround 2” (approx. 52 GB)
    6. “Bleed” (approx. 54 GB)

Anything then in the future will now be additional cost?
    Thanks.

    If I don’t want the Surround parts (Downloads 3 & 4), can I just install Downloads 1, 2 & 5?
Just confused, because the FAQ says “Sound library downloads must be installed in order.”

The FAQ is correct. The library parts must be installed in the correct order.

I must correct myself. The Extra Bleed package can be installed after Download 1: “Basic Sound Library” is installed. The rest of the packages needs to be installed in sequence though.

So its possible to install lets say 1, 2 & 5 if i do it in that order. I can skip the surround thing? Can i also buy just that parts wich i need and pay only for them?

    Hi st33I,

That’s exactly what I did and it worked just fine. All libraries are included though. You can’t purchase them separately.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread.

I’m currently mixing in 2.1 (pair of Neumann KH120’s + sub) and am wondering if there is any point for me to install parts 3 and 4? Do these parts make any difference to what I will hear in 2.1?

    Thanks

Yes, all content is useable for regular stereo mixing! They contain more microphones, which is useable to add more room to the mixes. Those mics can be placed around in a 11.1 mix, but the can also be placed in the regular stereo field 🙂
