    Hi,

all the MIDI files included with Superior Drummer 3 are newly recorded MIDI grooves.
There is currently no playlist showcasing all the Electronic sounds included (there are quite a few!) but you can hear some in context if you listen to the ‘Modern’ Audio Demos.

    John,
Thank you for replying. I wasn’t sure if the Modern mp3 demos were completely or partially electronic drum sounds. I listened to some of them earlier……now I’ve heard them all. My iMac is several years old with OSX 10.9.5, and 4 GB memory. If I didn’t use the surround sound, would 4 GB work pretty well?

    Well,

the Modern Audio Demos aren’t using the electronic sounds exclusively but I hear some of them.
4GB is the Minimum requirement and it really depends on the environment and what you want to load.
The Default kit preset in SD3 weighs around 1GB. With all Bleeds On in all microphones, the same kit is 5,9GB.
I think the Electronic presets are about a few hundreds of MB’s to a GB.
Also, if you run SD3 in standalone, you will have more of the system resources for drums. If you run SD3 in a DAW, e.g. Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase etc., you need to understand that the DAW will eat up RAM by itself.

But if you keep your kits reasonably large, you should be good to go.

    BR,
    John

Thank you for answering again. One other question: can SD3 access the MIDI drum patterns from SD2, EZDrummer1, and the EXZ’s?

Yes. All previously installed MIDI Grooves are available within the Superior Drummer 3 Grooves tab.
