My issue:
I’ve been trying to split i.ex. to different X-drum snares into their own signal paths, but I can’t get around the mic sharing thing (say I wanted to use two snares from the DFH pack in an Avatar set) S2 has a VAST library of sounds, so I want to be able to split (and bleed) and then treat those samples the way I want to.
Not exactly a problem, since I could still power up a 2nd S2 to get around it, but – if I were to buy another expansion pack, I might find that the sheer amount of samples could be harder to manage – in such a way.
Simple solution (I think) – don’t let X-drums automatically share – i.ex. – OH channels. Let us choose freely when to split and when to merge. Just a wish! 🙂
Oh, and if there actually IS a way to do this, with multiple X-drums, please let me know!!
It seems to me you need to read up on Microphone assignments.
If I understand you correctly, it’s all done on that page, where you can remove a Default assignment and create a new Microphone fader in the mixer.

True, you can set up a new microphone fader (that’s what makes x-drums a great feature!) – but that only counts for the first x-drum snare (in a given pack, say DFH).
If I wanted another x-drum snare from the SAME pack, they will end up sharing the new faders, i.ex. both snares will be routed to snare top, snare bottom, and overhead. I can move the assignments about, but as long as they belong to the same pack, they WILL shadow each other, just test it. 🙂
I can’t see any workaround to this, and I’ve read the manual thrice, scrutinized forums, and experimented a lot with the S2 interface.
