Added kick drum notes in grid editor are half the volume???

I was not having this issue the other day, but now I am.

It seems when I add a kick drum note in the grid editor, it is half the volume of the existing kick drum notes despite the velocity faders all being at maximum.

This is driving me crazy and I cannot figure out what is wrong.

Just to be sure, I even opened a fresh brand new project and used a default kit and the the same problem exists.

Do you add them to the instrument line that says “Kick”, or have you expanded that row to see the articulations?
It is possible that the notes you add (without expanding the view) ends up on the topmost (default) articulation, while the notes that is there from before are placed on another articulation!
