The first thing you should try it to run some other software with your MIDI controller to see if it stops working after a while disregarding what software you run!
    Maybe you have done that?

If it always stops working, it is probably the drivers for the Alesis controller that are faulty… Please report back to let us know.

ok the only drivers i know about im using are Asio4all, and whatevers in windows 10
ive gone to device manager to search for latest drivers.

i will try it while without Asio4all,
The Alesis Sample rack was just plug and play , no installation disk or driver downloads, all i did was update its firmware on receipt.
Have you heard of these symptoms before?
Im in the planning stages to building a purpose built pc, and was hoping to get get it working well on my current pc, before upgrading, but this issue has been pissing me off!

also by the way, does superior drummer benefit from a higher core cpu, or not really?

This sort of behaviour is all about driver/midi issues it is not Superior Drummer stopping at all it is outside of SD2.
Good luck hopefully a few updates or new /Good audio interface will get you going .
