    Actually I believe I may have resolved the issue above. However now I’d like to move the whole library (or all of SD3) over to my external SSD so that I can initialize it straight off the SSD reading though the forum I believe I’ve seen others do this, this is not the Toontrack specific SSD. Also forgot to mention that this is Mac OS and hardware, thanks again in advance.

    If you have everything installed to the default location, you can move the sample library;
    Shutdown SD3 and PM
    Copy the folder /Library/Application Support/Toontrack/Superior Drummer 3/SL-SuperiorDrummer3
    to your SSD

    Start SD3, goto settings > libraries on the right of the current configuration there’s a menu. Select Edit Path and navigate to the new location on your SSD.
    Once you have verified it’s working properly you should be able to remove from it’s default location.

    I am having a similar issue, but… My Mac Pro does not have enough storage to accommodate the first library install of SD3. I have tried ‘stopping’ the install, and restarting to another drive, but I am having no luck.

    I tried opening SD3 and changing install locations, but to no avail. PM is also not allowing me to stop / restart the current ‘Library 1’ install to another location.

    Suggestions?

    Just to be sure, (in PM) you changed the Download location to a new location, selected Move downloads and waited for that to complete. But it doesn’t work.

    Dear All

    New External Path Drive for SD3 library Downloads

    I was having dreadful problems installing SD3 and its associated libraries  using up valuable hard drive space, so much so my computer decided not to work couldn’t reboot. I had to do another complete OS reinstall !!

    Anyway, I was struggling to understand how to download the libraries to an external drive to save space. I tried the path via Product Manager under show details but no luck, I received the message saying “Path not allowed”. Then bingo so simple its scary.

    Go top left hand click on Toontrack Product Manager then preferences – Its there – click change direct to new external drive.

    Best of luck
