    Hello,

I just tried to update with ProductManager the sound libraries for several SDX libs already installed on my PC but BitDefender identified the ”Sound Updater.exe” as infected with Gen.VariantJohnnie.74110 trojan virius. Any idea if it is a false positive or if it is a real virus issue?

    Thanks!

You can try to upload to https://www.virustotal.com to check with several antivirus solutions. Maybe it’s a problem of BitDefender only.

    Thanks Reiner,

I did verify with VirusTotal.com and indeed it confirms that the ”Sound Updater” is infected (see attached pdf). It is not coming from my PC or my network, everything is clean and has been re-verified yesterday (full deep scan)…
As soon as the ProductManager completes the download of ”Sound Updater.exe” for any of my SDX libs, BitDefender triggers the quanrantine to prevent infection on my system. Can someone from Toontrack acknowledge/verify?….

    Thanks!

I would not take this too serious. Only 9 of 67 antivirus tools classify this file to be infected and BitDefender is the only well-known of them. All big named tools don’t find a virus.
Also it seems this 9 matches are heuristic based (can be seen in the name containing “Generic”).

If you are still unsure you can send the file to the BitDefender producer for further inspection.

    Regards Reiner
