    Hi,

since Reason doesn’t pick up the VSTs automatically I would presume you are on Windows and your 64-bit versions of the Toontrack VSTs aren’t installed in the VST folder listed in Reason’s Preferences.
Please open the Standalone version of e.g. EZdrummer and click the Help> Show Plug-In Path entry.
Make sure this path is added in Reason > Preferences > Advanced > VST Plugin Folders.

I have windowsIwindows 10 just purchased ezdrummer I installed both the 64 and the 32-bit version.  I just upgraded to reason 11.  I’ve been working on this for 24 hours straight and can’t figure it out.  I followed all the steps nothing is showing up for vsts in reason.  I set the correct path.  I checked the path from The help menu in ezdrummer.  My plug 64 plug host 64 none of that stuff is showing up even when I drag it over to the reasons side.

Limcost me $300 and I can’t get it to work.  Nobody will break it down for me.  Please help

    Hi,

as you can see in my attached screen shot, I have made sure the VST path is correct, selected ‘Instruments’ in the Browser to the left and scrolled down to the VSTs section below the Reason Instruments. Reason_EZD2

I have already made screen snapshots of the interface of my plugins but before you have made those, EZdrummer 2 will only have a big ‘VST’ label on the plugin in the list.

    I hope this helps,

    John

I figured it out I’ll make a YouTube video and explain it more thoroughly.  I know a lot of people are struggling with it

I have Reason 12. It doesn’t reconize Toontrack EZ drummer. It worked with Reason 11 but with the Reason 12 upgrade its not recognized. Can you help me with this?

    Thanks,

    Lawrence

I am having a similar issue, except I’m using Reason Essentials, and I can’t find the VST Pathway to link up with EZdrummer.  I’ve really been wanting to use VST’s with this program since I’ve been using it for almost a decade.  This is the wall I keep running into.  Hopefully I didn’t just spend a bunch of money on something I can’t use. :/

    Hi,

which version of Reason Essentials do you have? VST Support was introduced in v 9.5.

It’s Reason Essentials 2.1.1, but I’ve found a product which Reason said would upgrade Essentials to version 11.  What I’m trying to find out now, is whether Toontrack uses VST3 or something else.  I asked Reddit about my situation and one person said that Reason 11 has no VST3 support.  I’m not certain the validity of this claim, but neither am I certain about the compatibility between Toontrack’s EZ Drummer and Reason 11.  I’ve attached a picture of Reason 11 that I’m considering.

    Thoughts?

I just need my DAW and EZ Drummer to work together.  You’d think this would be simple stuff, but I think there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

Side Note for anyone else reading this:

Reason’s customer service, and their program up to 9.5, leaves something to be desired.  You’re really backed into a corner with them, but I’ve already dedicated 10 years to learning the program, so I can’t turn back now.  I should have bitten the bullet and started off with ProTools, more expensive, but less drama.

    Hello,

not sure this is the right spot, asking anyways.

I am not an expert, and I am using EZD3 as a plugin in Reason12. The hihat controller doe not seem to work correctly as a plugin (it responds to open-close as a pedal, but as soon as I hit with the sticks the sound is always “open”, if it makes sense). I used a couple of different expansion packs as well to no avail.

However, it works really nicely as a standalone with my TD-50x (the software is matched to the drum module). I suspect there is something really trivial I should do to get it to work properly with Reason12.. would you mind to direct me to a post in the forum discussing this or perhaps give me some suggestion?

    Thanks a bunch

Having same issue hihat open and close work and cc4 is being sent but soon as I hit hihat again its open.  Tried setting mod wheel override to cc4 but no change.

Used to work fine with TD 12, Switch to Edrumin 8 and now having issue again.  SD3 works perfect with Edrumin 8 in standalone and no hihat issue.

Also works in Cubase so its something in Reason 12 not getting the proper cc4.   Anyone out there know of a fix for this??

    Would be appreciated!
