    Yes, you can use the MIDI in commercially released compositions.

    …Although…you as a composer are ultimately responsible if you would violate any copyright issues with already existing songs. As you would when using any other software or writing a song from scratch without any songwriting software at all. Business as usual, so to speak.

    i was told by toontrack last year that you couldn’t use their ez keys midi in commercial compositions…and that you had to substantially change it to avoid any copyright issues…tho quite how one would measure this substantial change, i really don’t know. a few notes? a key transposition? 10 bpm slower?

    i feel a bit sorry for the guy who played and wrote the parts [richard clayderman? chas..of chas n dave?]. i bet he didn’t get paid so well
