Hi – EZdrummer is not overly optimized for edrums (see FAQ). Your best bet is to use Toontrack solo but do away of recording facilities or to upgrade to Superior 2.0 which will greatly improved the user defined response you can dial in the VSTi itself.

    I hope that helps.

    Hi again

I used the same setup before but with Roland TD-3 and that worked OK. Now with my new shining TD-20 there is problem with closed hi-hat. I will 4 sure upgrade to S2.0 when it comes out..anyday hopefully? Thanks for youre anwer! / T

well that’s because the VH-12 requires an offset in MIDI to output the correct value when the pedal is down. In other words if you mess around with the module you should be able to get it resolved somewhat but you may end up with hard tight samples regardless of how much pressure you apply.

I’ve been able to get a good closed hi hat sound using the TD-20 and VH-12, but only when monitoring the Nashville kit. The PopRock kit has a more open hi hat sound, and I’ve tried a variety of different settings without success. What I usually do is record and monitor with the Nashville hi hat, and then change the routing to a different instance of the PopRock hi hat for playback. That’s the best solution I’ve found.

    Ok

Thanks for input. I was messing around last night and recorded with EZD rock/pop sound excl hihat and recorded hihat sound direct from TD-20 modul and that seems to work out fine…waiting for S2.0..=)

I’m getting a VH-12 in the next few days, so I’ll report back my findings;)
