To avoid confusion (which we have detected some fear of) for the Toontrack releases to come during fall and early 2004, Toontrack has decided to release the following information.

"DFH AKAI-version"
Our good friend and first time (but not last) partner in crime Mr Keith More has modified the original DFH for the AKAI format. This is a result of all the hardware fans out there in need of the ultimate multi-sampled drumkit. The AKAI CD will include both the basic DFH and the Add-On released earlier this year.

"DFH2 - Pro Sample Series"
We couldn´t say no to the invitation from our esteemed distributor EastWest communications to participate in this hugely successful and widespread sample series and decided to give all our users the possibility to sample our upcoming major release DFH SUPERIOR by mapping one of the drumkits from it for the Kompakt engine. This kit is played by Tomas Haake and boy does it sound like something else.

"DFH SUPERIOR"
This is the one you´ve all been waiting for. Featuring approx. 60.000 soundfiles & 35+ GB data.
It contains of Ludwig, Sonor, Premiere, Fibes & DW kits. We multisampled 46 different cymbals, many of them are handmade prototypes from sabian, you cant even buy cymbals like that, (the cymbals alone are worth the price of this library). We also multisampled 7 hi-hats, 11 snares, one cocktail kit from Yamaha, one big percussion kit with different types of tamburines, shakers, bongos, congas from MEINL Percussion and much more!

All of these kits are easily customized with our own newly designed plug-in that will set the standard for drumprogramming to come.

WHY ALL THESE NAMES and PRODUCTS?
The decision to release two versions of DFH at the same time has to do with both availability and price. If you want to sample what´s to come on the SUPERIOR release you can first try out the Pro Sample Series version of DFH 2 with one kit only and still get the hits of Mr Haake. If you like it you can move on to major drum heaven (hard drums, vintage drums, old drums, jazz drums, Brushes, Cocktail drums, Percussion oh man!) by purchasing SUPERIOR when it´s
released. This move enables Toontrack to market and sell high quality drumproducts in all price segments of the market.
