Cant assign record button to my MIDI controller

I have an Axiom 61 and would like to use the play – record – etc buttons from EZkeys via the controller but for some reason i cant get it to work. Any idea?

Doesn’t it work to right click the button, select “MIDI learn” and then press the button on the keyboard you want to control the record button with?
