Hey marco, if you try out the Reggae EZkeys MIDI could you post here what you think of it?

Also, neither here nor there, I keep wishing there were a Reggae EZbass product line. :

    Hi nfrhtp,
I was a bit excited to see the new Reggae EZkeys MIDI pack but after listening to the demo I was a bit underwhelmed. I am not a jazz piano player by any means but I can lay out a basic skank reggae piano line. I would have liked to have heard some bubble chops as part of it for starters. Also, I am not sure what exactly it is…but it sounded kind of super clean and tight rather than a little laid back, slack and groovy. Perhaps I am being too harsh on it and one day I might give it a go.

I want to try out the Reggae EZX at some stage too. I am guessing there isnt any slow 80bpm beats but still might be good. The demo video has a good sound.

I am no Robbie Shakespeare but I know how hard it is to find some decent reggae styled basslines. I am also open to collaborating with strangers online to make music. If you need some bass on a track, send me a message via Soundcloud and I’ll have a listen and go if I can get into a track.

I played bass and keyboards on the 1st remix track of this playlist of my music. The drums are mostly from Toontrack’s Superior Drummer2.

    Hello marco,

Thanks a lot for your response. Regarding the Reggae EZkeys MIDI pack — it does seem like one of the musical styles least likely to need a MIDI pack assist, so I too have passed, despite being strongly drawn to all things “Reggae EZ…”.

Thanks for sharing the links to your remixes. They sound good! I especially like Serious Dub and Dirty Dub.

    Respect!

thanks for having a listen to my music. Only two are actually remixes, the others may use some samples but are original compositions. I am glad u mentioned the two that you did. Both were done a few years ago and I feel I know more about the process of music production now but the mistakes are part of a more natural sound I think. I like Dirty Dub too, although it has had very few listens.

You may be right that Reggae is not an easy ‘go to’ musical style for Midi packs. I think the chops demonstrated could be a good part of a Hammond B3 organ pack. Similar to what they have done on other organ EzKeys.

Hit me up for a collab if you want sometime 🙂
