Hello a bit of newbie here and wanted to make sure before I move forward I understand how this works. I currently have EZ Drummer 2 and would like to purchase the Yamaha DD65 drum machine. Id like to be able to it with EZ Drummer and I am a bit unsure how to get this working. I realize in the Menu setting there is an E Drum section and I can select Yamaha from there, its trying to figure out how to "connect the DD65 to my computer and or audio interface ??
Any guidance is appreciated. I have an Avid Eleven Rack and Roland Octa Capture Audio Interface

Hi,

both your interfaces have MIDI I/O, so you just decide which one you want to use and connect it to your computer via USB. Then you connect your DD65 with a MIDI cable to the MIDI IN on your interface.
Next, start up EZdrummer 2 on your computer, set the Audio and MIDI settings and then the Yamaha mapping.

John

John, I'm going to use the Octa-Capture so I would need need a MIDI to USB cable going from Octa Capture to PC then MIDI to MIDI from Yamaha to Octa correct ?
Thanks for the help

John may have misunderstood Octa interfaces is connected already to my PC via USB, I'm assuming that's what you meant and not midi to USB but just wanted to verify..

Hi,

just USB-> USB from Octa to PC, then MIDI Out from DD65 to MIDI IN Octa.
